Leona Ayers

Research interests

Research focuses on the pathology of the rapid progression of both benign and malignant diseases in the HIV infected individual. Of specific interest is the role of monocytes infected with both HIV and Chlamydia pneumoniae in CNS lymphoma and pulmonary emphysema. Pathology investigations are tissue based and feature the use of tissue microarrays.
